Checked DOL website yesterday (4/30) and today (5/01) to see what the front page would say. Sure enough - the image changed from "18 Months Remaining" yesterday to "17 Months Remaining" today!
Web gurus, can you guys make sense of the following lines? I grabbed them from the DOL's website source. Can you tell if this being manually changed or some script is doing it automatically:

if i check in the wesite or call the ins they say its approved bt my consultant states that the same had a query which i have also seen was sent to her , the query was sent in aug and we did reply the same instance . rite now im on student visa and abtto complete my mba and eligible for my internship . im veri much in the usa . please guide me as to wat shud i do tackle this situation and whts the next step . i want to wrk asap . i also that want to knw after its approval wat r the next step of docs tat i shud have and wat is it that i need to have to gain a upper hand and be out of this mess

Interestingly lot of folks like me are doing 485 on their own - because its NOT difficult. Its small Project and you have to get the Docs right and complete.
Regd - Lawyers dont really answer RFE - they ask us to give the piece of extra information and henceforth charge 3000-4000... Like if a RFE comes to me because i didn't submit W2 and Tax returns - I'll send that. What do i need a lawyer to send my W2's ?
So far as critical RFE's like Birth Certificate , Employment letter unsatisfactory they will straight away reject the case - No question of RFE an no need of
lawyer answering it.
I feel like lawyers are collectively spreading these rumours because they want peoples like me to feel scared with the overall tense environment so that they get more business !!
I mailed my case today June 30th and it should hit Lincoln, NE July 2nd
Since the Visa bulletion is still showing current i have a right to do that.

I thought that you can use AC21 only if you work for employer and I-485 pending more than 180 days and then you leave the employer to work for somebody else.
Is it possible to use prior employer's I-140, Empolyment offer letter - and file I-485 for future employment--- wait 6 months and then use AC21 clause to get greencard - All these while working for company other than original employer who file I-140?

Yep, just passed level III , today. Now will start applying for the charter.
you must be a happy man today! congrats again.....
I got my charter in 05.. but still remember the day i got my results... one of the best days of my life..
I really havent used it much though other than sponsoring my students for level 1. so what area of fin you in?

At last I am able to get to the root of the issue. I went to Logan airport and spoke to Immigartion dept people. They have seperate cell called differed inspection for these kind of clarifications.
When I explained the situation they found that the i-94 number in their system is not matching with that of mine. So when SSA is searching the database they were not getting any details. They have issued a new i-94 card to me and asked me to re-submit the request to SSA. Hopefully they will be able to get it this time.
If any one faces similar problems, they may contact immigation dept of Logan at #617-568-1810 option 0 and ask for differed inspections.

Not really .... My brother worked in India for 3 years and worked here in US for 5 years before moving back to India and he is earning good too.
Salary for any job depends on lot of factors. How one negotiates is a key factor.

I am skeptical about these high salaries. Companies have range for each position. good negotiation may get you the higher end but you can not go from 25L to 45L by negotiating.
The media there (and ppl too) like to talk about high salaries. This facebook article shows ppl obsession on the topic and a whole article about one studen't offer is ridiculous and vulgar in a way .

Just spoke with a TSC IO. She was a pretty nice lady and answered all my questions. Apparently, mine and my spouse's AP were approved on 10/17/2007. We still didn't receive the APs. The online status still shows pending. I believe my attorney may receive the AP docs.
I've asked her about my Name Check and Fingerprint. According to her my name check was initiated on 8/9/2007 and it is pending. My FBI fingerprint check came back on 9/10/2007.

is OP wrong or right in his assumption?
Personally, I don't think it matters whether an applicant is direct employee or works for a consulting company. If it was indeed true, then people would start jumping on the direct client bandwagons :D
